Dr Li has over 20 years of research experience in neuroscience. He has a Ph.D. degree in neuroscience as well as postdoctoral training in this field. He has studied Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) as early as in 2001 when he was a psychiatry resident and instructor at Harvard Medical school. In 2015, he studied transdermal Ketamine for depression treatment. He also has expertise in combining Ketamine, Spravato with TMS in his clinic for the treatment of severe depression, anxiety, PTSD and other severe mental illnesses.
Taking advantage of his advanced background in the field of psychiatry and neuroscience, Dr. Li has been pioneering in application of newest technologies as well as pharmaceutical agents to help his patients with various treatment resistant mental illnesses in the past 15 years. He began Neurostar TMS treatments in 2008, one of first psychiatrists who used TMS in USA. Later in 2013 he was one of first who introduced Brainsway Deep TMS treatment in his Milford clinic in Massachusetts, and in 2022, he added additional new TMS treatment for obsessive and compulsive disorder. Thanks to his neuroscience background, Dr Li has his unique insight in TMS treatment of psychiatric illness, especially in treatment resistant depression, anxiety disroder, OCD . His clinic has also provided Spravato (Esketamine) nasal spray treatment for depression and suicidal thought intervention since 2019 – one of first in MA. In addition, intramuscular Ketamine treatment has also been under evaluation.
